How to fill a skip and save money

Filling a skip

Disposing of builders rubble and garden waste has become an expensive exercise with the cost of Skip Hire varying from £ 120 to £ 200 for a 8 cubic metre skip depending where the Waste Disposal Company is located within the UK. The debris in these pictures filled the skip before it was stacked on either side because of the voids made in between the old block paving when it was tipped out of the wheelbarrow.

By spending a few minutes stacking every second barrow we managed to save the cost of ordering a second skip. This skip cost £140 and was well worth the time spent stacking the debris even though it is a tedious job

To save money on skips anything what can be stacked to save space is beneficial. The waste in this skip is a mixture of tree and shrub pruning which was placed at the bottom and was crushed down with the weight of the soil turf and bricks placed on top
